Mette Hartung Kirkegaard

Developing an intimate connection to a location or subject forms the basis of all Mette Hartung Kirkegaards works.

The ongoing themes are relationships, the interspace and a fascination of a world that can be experienced both physically and emotionally.

At Land404 Mette is creating two different works. The first project consists of 20.000 painted wooden sticks and is to be placed in the field as a large, colorful landscape installation. The second project is of photographic and interactive character – a picture hunt to trace the movements and gaze of another person.

Mette Hartung Kirkegaards series ”Equally Infinite” is represented by POM gallery and her work is part of the public art collection in the counties Sörmland and Uppsala as well as Nyköpings municipality. She has exhibited at venues including The Proun Room in Glasgow, European month of Photography in Berlin, the Copenhagen Photo Festival and Röda Sten Konsthall in Gothenburg. In 2013 she co-curated the outdoor exhibition ”Landskabe” in a disused quarry on the island of Bornholm.
